Hepatitis C FAQs

This document is meant to provide education and information to people that have hepatitis c and their loved ones. It is not meant to take the place of your practitioner and the information is provided in the hopes that you can become an active partner in your health care with your physician.  We believe in empowerment through education. We have tried to get permission to copy from the folks that wrote the articles contained herein but it wasn’t always possible. We got most of the information from the internet which is public domain so we hope we haven’t stepped on anyones toes. We’re not selling this document for profit and in many cases we give them away to people that don’t have the money to pay.All we want to see is the information getting to the people that need it the most. That’s You. Other documents available include the combo survival guide from a–z written by some great gals in the us and double jeopardy about coinfection.

Thanks to the very special people that helped put together the information for this project.

Darlene N for her endless typing, encouragement and support. Without her help this document would not have been possible.

Smilin’Sandi for her never-ending smiles, work and constant support. The entire section on Ontario was done entirely by Sandi and you must visit her website for the most up-to-date information. Sandi has been there with advice for me on occasions too numerous to mention.

Audrey Knight for her delightful work with Hopsy through constant shoulder pain, fibromyalgia and caring for Ken whose is infected with hepatitis C.

Dianne Morrisettie for her help in getting some of the articles together (from the New Westminister support group). Douglas Perry, DTCM wrote an article on acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Hepatitis C that is included in the Late additions. He can be reached at 604.805.0672

A huge thanks to Bob Edwards from HeCSC Victoria for his help in hot linking the table of contents so it could go on the web and in converting the document into Adobe Acrobat so everyone could read it.

Thanks to all the kind people at the CANHepC List that helped provide information and feedback. If you don’t see your info in this book and would like it added to the new addition ( 6- 8 months from July 2000), please call the office at 604.608.3544. The info MUST be in digital form (on a disk or sent by email) as I cannot type it in due to carpal tunnel and other disabilities.

And just thanks to all the kind folks that lended their support to me over the years. Too many to name but you all know who you are.

The final section contains info that was given too late to include in the book so we added a section for it but it is out of the table of contents so you’ll justhave to have a look.

And chapter four and ten aren’t missing- I just miscounted. And there is no page 136 or 169.  But if you find other mistakes in the book, please let us know. The little things in life--- aren’t things.

Darlene M
