This has been a very busy month speculations - what with compensation and the cure! Further investigations are definitely needed!!!
Next month I will be going to Washington, DC to the Walk on Washington. I am really excited about being there and about meeting Dr. Jay Hoofnagle. This will be a 3 day meeting of the biggest and best in the US, who are involved in Hepatitis C.
The Hepatitis C front is a very busy one these days.We are receiving many calls from individuals, wondering about the Health Ministers decision about compensation and where they can get their cheques.
It is very disheartening to be taking these calls most have no idea how they contracted the disease, and get very angry when told that compensati on will only affect those transfused. Compensation by the looks of the package will go back to 1974 but there will be a need to prove you were transfused! Cheques will not simply be randomly handed out!
I will let you know more next month and will keep all up to date. Until then, stay positive, stay well.
Leslie
